Reverend Thomas J. Davidson, clergy of the Northern Methodist Episcopal Church. Son of William Davidson. Wife named Nancie Matilda (last name unknown,), siblings were Rev. Jonas George Davidson,Rev. Harvey W. Davidson (died 1866)and Julia Ann Davidson Wade, all of his siblings moved to Dunklin County, Missouri after a split in the church. Julia married Rev. Elder John Henry Wade, of the Saint Louis Conference in Scott County, Missouri in 1843. Rev. Wade helped form the Old Liberty Church, near Caruth and served at the Chalk Bluff mission during the war, as a member of the Grand Prairie District. Julia and their children moved with him to Yellville, Arkansas in 1866, where he became known as the ^nestor of Arkansas Methodism.^ Thomas died around 1869.He and Mattie (Nancie Matilda)had 7 children; Thomas J.b.1838,Daniel W.b.1842, Nancy (Morris)b.1844, Susan Matilda (Wallis)b.1854, Dinah b.1846, William J. b.1852, Francis Marrion b. 1857. Daniel and Francis both moved to Reynolds County after the Civil War and married sisters named Emmaline and Martha E. Johnson. His oldest son, Thomas Jefferson Davidson,known by the family as T.J. served with the Union Army in the 68th and 31st Regimental Militia and was married three times. His first marriage in 1865 was to Mary Jane Davis, the daughter of William Armstrong Davis, one of the oldest settlers in Wayne County. They helped to form the Old Shiloh Methodist Church in Wayne County. His third marriage was to Minerva Jane Huson Branch, the widow of Archelaus Branch and a daughter of William J. Huson, a district court judge in Ripley County, in 1865. T.J.died in Fairdealing, Missouri in 1917 and is buried at the Mount Pleasant/Fairdealing Methodist Church Cemetery.
