Henry Jefferson Reed, born 3 Apr 1871, wife Quillie York Reed, born 8 Aug 1880, children Ovia, Elzia, Monroe and Hearle came to Osceola after the 1920 census. Their son Monroe applied for his SS application in 1932 while living in Osceola. A journal notes they lived in Osceola during a flood and were taken by boat to Memphis or Turell. Henry was struck there by a hit and run driver and received head injuries that would take his life a year later. His son Monroe later moved his family to Lake Providence, LA where he died in November 1977. Quillie would later marry Shelia Dye. Quillie died December 12, 1957. Quillie was the granddaughter of Vincent York and Elizabeth Kilpatrick, married in Coosa County, AL in 1849. Vincent died while a PP of the 30th Alabama Infantry May 1, 1865 and is buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, VA. Quillie was the daughter of Zachary Taylor York and Eula Lloyd of Clay County, AL, married in 1879. Later migrating to Pike County, AR. Quillie\'s family migrated to Arkansas from Clay County, AL before 1899 when she first married Henry C. Handley of Star of the West, Pike County, AR. Eulla Lloyd was the daughter of William F. Lloyd and Mary Etta Bullard of Tallapoosa, AL.
Henry J. Reed was the son of Shipman Reed, born Aug 1848 in AR and died 11 Dec 1930 in AR. and is buried at the Barber Cemtery, Montgomery County, Ar. He was married to Nancy Caroline Lambert. Shipman was the son of John Reed, born 1824, AL and Pamilia Barnett of AR.
