Obituary: Joseph P. Gast Jr., 70, died Wednesday at Audubon Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired pressroom superintendent for Publishers Printing Co. in Shepherdsville, where he worked 32 years, and a member of Louisville Litho Club and Kentucky Seniors Golf Association.
Survivors: his wife, the former Edith Cox; three daughters, Joyce Hare of Mount Washington, Tamara Seppenfield and Sharon Stovall; four sisters, Clara Moody, Ann Tinsley, Marcella Hahn and Mildred Sales; and four grandchildren.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Highway. Burial: Hebron Cemetery, Shepherdsville.
Visitation: Arch L. Heady Okolona Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Highway,
1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday.

Per USA Declaration of Intention filed in the District Court of Leavenworth County, KS (2-438) on 30 Oct 1893: Peter Gast, aged 59, white, dark complexion, 5'10", 155 pounds, Grey hair, brown eyes, was born in Horstein Germany on the 5th day of June, 1860. He emigrated to the US from Antwerp on the vessel Westenland from Horstein. He arrived at the port of New York on or about the 5th day of March 1886. His wife is Rosa Gast, born at Horstein, Germany.
