Mrs. Catherine Moellman Loeser, 95 years old, widow of Frank Loeser
and mother of the Reverend August Loeser of Ontario, Oregon, died at
9:40 p.m. Saturday, March 14.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the
residence of a daughter, Mrs. John Moert, 523 East St. Catherine, and at
9 o'clock at St. Paul Church, Jackson St. Interment was in St. Michael
Cemetery.
Father Loeser was celebrant of the Solemn Requiem. A grandson, Rev.
Francis X. Laemmle, assistant at Holy Name Church, was deacon of the
Mass; another grandson, Jerome Moert, seminarian at St. Meinrad, was
subdeacon; Rev. Edward J. Reavy, pastor of St. Philip Neri Church, was
master of ceremonies. Low Masses were celebrated simultaneously at the
side altars by the Reverend Fathers Camillus, C.P., and Hubert, C.P., of
Sacred Heart Passionist Monastery. Father Laemmle delivered the
sermon. Present in the sanctuary were the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Daniel A.
Driscoll, Rector of the Cathedral; Rev. Francis J. Timoney, Pastor of
Holy Name Church; Rev. Martin Frankenberger, pastor of St. Edward
Church, Jeffersontown; Rev. Leo J. Dreckmann, pastor of St. Martin
Church, and Rev. Jos. J. Rives, pastor of St. Paul's.
Mrs. Loeser was a native of Riesta, Germany, came to this country
with her family when twenty years old, and was formerly for many years a
member of St. Martin parish. She has three granddaughters who are
Religious, Sister Mary Rose of the Poor Clares, Memphis; Sister Mary
Xavier of Columbia, S.C., of the Louisville Ursulines; Sister Mary
Barbara, Louisville, of the Sisters of Mercy. Sister Mary Alicia, of
the Sisters of Charity, Louisville, is a sister-in-law.
Other survivors include two other sons, Aloysius F. Loeser of
Huntington, and Andrew ...this is where my nspr clipping ends - Mom had
