He served in the US Tank Corps in WWI. According to family histoy he served in France in WWI and was hit with Mustard Gas, after which he was disabled. When he returned to the states, he was sent to Arizona where he met and married his nurse, Ethel L. Dugan. They apparently married before they moved to Deming, New Mexico, because no marriage record for them appears in the records there.

From the Deming Headlight, Friday, January 22, 1926, page 1, column 3:
Charles A. Kissler, ex-service man died at his home in Deming about noon, Jan. 20. Mr. Kissler came to Deming some two yars ago for his health, and for a time the climate seemed to benefit him some. He had been growing worse the last few days, and the end came last Wednesday. The body was sent to his home in Palmyra, Ind., today. He is survived by his wife and baby who were with him at the time of his death.

CHARLES A. KEISLER
Charles A. Keisler, an incapacitated ex-service man, died at his home here at noon Wednesday, he being a victim of tuberculosis. His body was shipped to Corydon Junction, Indiana, for interment. His bereaved wife and their baby accompanied the remains.

Probate file 527 dated 1936-1938 in Luna Co., NM is dedicated to dispensing the estate of Charley Kiesler. He died intestate in 1926. Accrording to information contained in this file, Ethel L. Kiesler his wife wanted his estate divided between her and their son Donald C. Kiesler 50/50 in accordance with Indiana law, but New Mexico law stated that the estate was to be divided 5/8-3/8. The estate consisted of a $1400+ War life insurance policy. Ethel and Donald Kiesler lived in Algonac, St. Clair Co., MI in 1936-38. Parents: George Joseph KIESLER and Josephine REISING.

Clarence Kiesler, 82, New Salisbury, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.

He was a native of New Salisbury, a retired factory worker in Marion, a veteran of World War II and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Bradford.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Saturday, Oct. 5, at St. Michael's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Arrangements: Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.

He was a native of Bradford, a retired mechanic at Morgan Packing Co. in Austin and a member of Finley Township Volunteer Fire Department and Knights of Columbus Council 8052.

County Native, George Kiesler dies at 90
George E. Kiesler, 90, New Salisbury, died last Wednesday, 4 a.m. at his home.
A Harrison County native, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Corydon chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors are two sons Clarence Kiesler, Marion, Ind., and William Kiesler, New Salisbury; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The funeral was held Friday, 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Bradford, with burial in the church cemetery. The rosary was conducted at 8 p.m., Thursday at Love Funeral Home, Palmyra, with the Rev. Albert Diezeman officiating. Pallbearers were Raymond and Norbert Hoehn, Albert Nordhoff, Vincent Schilmiller, and Bob and Don Kiesler.

George Kiesler Died Thursday
Age 84 Years
George KIESLER, 84 years old, died at his home in Bradford, Thursday, due to the infirmities of age. Mr Kiesler had been a Prussian soldier, and emigrated to this country from Germany when a young man.
Besides his aged widow, he is survived by three sons, Joseph J. of near Greenville, Edward and Frank of Bradford and one daughter, Mrs. Philip FESSEL of New Salisbury. A son, Charles Kiesler preceded him in death several years ago.
Funeral services were held at St. Michael's Church in Bradford Saturday by Rev. John Gorman, and interment was in the church cemetery.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the St. Michael's Catholic Church for George Kiesler. Mr. Kiesler was 84 years old and had been a Prussian soldier prior to his emigration to this country.
